The last time the historic Pikes Peak Cog Railway closed for repairs was 10 years ago. After another decade of making memories heading up the Peak, the Cog has decided to pause service for the foreseeable future after inspections led to deeper issues with the infrastructure of the railway.
What seemed like simple repairs during the winter has now turned into a multi-year project.
Don’t worry! the owners of the Cog Railway and the city of Manitou Springs may have found a solution!
Last month they agreed to a 50-year tax incentive deal to help finance the reconstruction and reopening of the Railway. Looks like the Pikes Peak Cog Railway will be coming back after all!
Not So fast!
Although there is a tentative plan in place, the Cog may not reopen for another few years!
Don’t worry, Gray Line is here!
